Accompanying
I have been accompanying vocalists and instrumentalists since I was in grade school. I stepped down from the chorus risers once my teachers figured out that I could play the piano and sight read really well at age 9. This continued through grammar school, high school, college, and in the church. I spent more time on the accompanying music for juries than my own stuff! But it was a great way to get familiar with different styles and composers.
